| The Forgotten Coast? A few years ago, maybe. Now our area of the Florida panhandle, dubbed the Forgotten Coast a little over a decade ago, is far from forgotten and most certainly not forgettable. The Forgotten Coast encompasses some of Wakulla County to the east, all of Franklin County and some of Gulf County to the west. The communities of St. Marks, Alligator Point, St. James, Lanark, Carrabelle, Eastpoint and Apalachicola, are strung along the coast with the inhabited barrier islands, Dog Island and St. George Island as well as the uninhabited Little St. George and St. Vincent Island to the south and Indian Pass and Cape San Blas to the west. Each community has its own distinct appeal, each is an autonomous community but all together they make up a part of Florida that is quickly becoming the desired destination, both for vacationing and for relocation, of many people. |
